To counter Russia, the UK has proposed to create a new political, economic and military alliance, which will become an alternative to the European Union.
The model proposed by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson involves the creation of a European Commonwealth led by the UK.
Possible composition of the new alliance:
1. UK.
2. Poland.
3. Estonia.
4. Latvia.
5. Lithuania.
6. Turkey.
7. Ukraine.
According to reports, the British Prime Minister proposed this idea back in early April during his visit to Kyiv, when it became increasingly clear that the EU was not ready to accept Ukraine into its ranks. The model of the European Commonwealth that Boris Johnson has in mind will include 7 countries, including Turkey at a later stage.
