This day commemorates the 100th anniversary of decisive victory of Turks under the leadership of Pasha Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder of modern Turkish republic in the Battle of Dumlupınar, on 30 August 1922. which ensured the independence and becoming a state, from the former Ottoman Empire.
