TUESDAY NOVEMBER 23

WHAT IS THE BLESSING OF ABRAHAM?

Galatians 3:13-14

_13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith._

God promised Abraham that He would make him the father of all nations. Then God added that through him all the nations of the earth would be blessed. God took several years to show us the blessings He was referring to. If you want to fully understand this, study the history of the Israelites who were the immediate descendants of Abraham. You will realize that the blessings that came to them were not just material blessings.

It was a combination of several things: darkness came upon the whole of Egypt and it did not affect them. None of the ten plagues had any effect on them. See how the favor of God went ahead of them as they travelled in the wilderness towards the Promised Land. See the fear that crippled the nations that came upon them.

The body of Christ today has a limited understanding and expectation when it comes to the blessing of Abraham. We have become so glued to the world’s standards of material possessions to the point that if the believer does not have money in his account, he does not consider himself blessed.
We make the statement “I am blessed and highly favored”, but harbor fear and uncertainty in our hearts, waiting for the time when we will have material possessions. Then we come out to testify about how the Lord has blessed us.
It is time to broaden our understanding of the blessing of Abraham. Abraham had great wealth, and so did Job, but they both had more than just material things

Prayer
1. Thank God for making you a beneficiary of the blessings of Abraham.
2. Pray for an enhanced understanding of blessings beyond material possessions.
3. Father, please help me enjoy the blessing that is mine through Abraham.

Declarations
I declare that I am blessed. I may not have that much money in my accounts, but I am blessed. I may not be living in my own mansion, but I am blessed. The truth is that because I am blessed, all these are going to follow me, and in the fullness of time, I can talk of God’s total blessings for me through Father Abraham in the name of Jesus.
