IDF: The Military Court sentenced the individual responsible for the shooting attack in which the late Malachi Rosenfeld was murdered to two life sentences

Today (Sunday), the Military Court sentenced Maad Hamed, who was convicted, according to his admission, of the crime of intentionally causing the death of (equivalent to the offense of murder in Judea and Samaria) the late Malachi Rosenfeld on June 29, 2015. The defendant was also convicted of the offenses of attempting to intentionally cause death, membership and activity as part of an unlawful association and other offenses.

The defendant was convicted of establishing a terrorist cell on behalf of the Hamas terrorist organization. He did so with the goal of carrying out terrorist attacks Israeli against Israeli targets and was planning to carry out a shooting attack together with the other members of the terrorist cell. As part of this framework, on June 29, 2015, the defendant fired toward a private vehicle in which four Israeli passengers were sitting, killing Malachi Rosenfeld and injuring additional passengers. Furthermore, the defendant was prosecuted for another shooting attack in June 2015.

After hearing the arguments of both parties regarding the sentencing, the Military Court sentenced the defendant to two life sentences. In addition, it was determined that the defendant will pay compensation to the family of the deceased and the victims of the crime in a total amount of one million and 90 thousand NIS.

The military prosecution is in contact with the family members of the deceased and the victims of the crime, continuously updating them on developments and granting them all the rights they are lawfully entitled to.
