Overnight, as part of the IDF, ISA and Israeli Police Counter Terrorism Unit's ("Yamam") continuous intelligence and operational activity to apprehend the terrorists who committed the shooting attack at Tapuah Junction, in which three Israeli civilians were injured, IDF troops apprehended a number of suspects in the Judea and Samaria region. In addition, the vehicle suspected of being used by the terrorists to carry out the terror attack was confiscated.
The suspects and the vehicle were transferred to security forces.

IDF, ISA and Israeli Police Counter Terrorism Unit ("Yamam") troops continue to pursue the terrorists.

Lt. Gen. Kohavi: We are working to protect our citizens during a volatile and challenging period.

The Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi, recently visited Tapuach Junction, where a drive-by shooting took place yesterday, during which two civilians were seriously injured and another civilian was lightly wounded. He met the team of troops who fired at the terrorist vehicle and praised their performance.

Subsequently, the Chief of the General Staff conducted a situational assessment, during which the Commanding Officer of the Judea and Samaria Division, Brig. Gen. Yaniv Alaluf, surveyed the deployment of forces in the sector in light of recent events.

IDF troops continue to pursue the terrorists involved in the attack, while at the same time intensifying defense efforts in the area.

The Chief of the General Staff was accompanied on his visit by the Commanding Officer of the Central Command, Maj. Gen. Tamir Yadai; the The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), Maj. Gen. Rassan Aliyan and other commanders.

The Chief of the General Staff, at the end of his visit: "The IDF is doing everything necessary to protect our citizens and ensure stability during a volatile and challenging period.
The response to the event was good, but the results were not good enough. We would have liked a different result - that one of the seven bullets fired had killed the terrorist.
We have reinforced troops in the area and will continue to operate to thwart terrorism.”

2021-05-02 18:42:49 IDF: IDF troops are pursuing a vehicle from which the drive-by shooting at the Tapuah Junction was perpetrated

Following the previous report regarding a drive-by shooting attack in the Tapuah Junction, South of Nablus, a suspicious vehicle arrived at the junction and fired towards Israeli civilians who were present at the scene. IDF troops responded with fire towards the suspicious vehicle which escaped the scene. A number of civilians are injured. Additional IDF troops in the area have blocked off a number of routes and are currently pursuing the suspicious vehicle. Open / Comment
