Sālim reported that Masrūq said: “So long as a man's heart remains connected to the ḏikr of Allāh, Mighty and Majestic is He, he is considered to be in state of prayer, even if he be in al-sūq (ie: the marketplace).”

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ: «مَا دَامَ قَلْبُ الرَّجُلِ يَذْكَرُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَإِنْ كَانَ فِي السُّوقِ»
