And some women from Banū Tamīm came to ʿĀʿishah (may Allah be pleased with her) in thin clothing (ie: which exposed their body shape).
وَدَخَلَ نِسْوَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا عَلَيْهِنَّ ثِيَابٌ رِقَاقٌ،

ʿĀʿishah said to them: “If you are muʿmināt (ie: truly believing women), then this is not the garment of al-muʿmināt.
فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: إِنْ كُنْتُنَّ مُؤْمِنَاتٍ فَلَيْسَ هَذَا بِلِبَاسِ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ،

And if you are not muʿmināt then (you may) enjoy it.”
وَإِنْ كُنْتُنَّ غَيْرَ مؤمنات فتمتعينه.
