My nana was a pretty unassuming woman. She was portly, wore large glasses and spoke softly. She liked playing slot machines, boardwalk fries with vinegar and thought Ron Jaworski was the greatest quarterback there ever was. The only thing other than football that she never missed was Sunday mass.

The only job she ever had was part time for a few years after the kids moved out. She had 8 kids. She buried her 3 oldest sons in the 80s. One died of cancer, one drowned and the third was stabbed to death by a black hitchhiker for the $40 in his wallet.

All of her children had children and she even lived to see great grandchildren. My nana lived through the great depression and WW2. Waited for my pop pop to come home from fighting in Germany.

She was sweet, kind and patient. Was everybody's favorite grandmother. Her hospice room was wall to wall covered in photos of all the children. She wanted to be surrounded by all her babies as she passed. Last thing she said to me was "Don't be sad. I'm going to be with pop pop again."

My Nana was a gentle creature despite a life of hardship and suffering. She did nothing but nurture and project love.

At her funeral, the big Catholic church that held the service was so packed that people had to stand in the back. Hundreds of people came from all over the country to say goodbye to my little Nana.

That is feminine power. To have the unwaivering loyalty of hundreds of people. To be able to make a phone call and have any need met without question.

There is not a single girlboss career woman on this planet who wields the kind of power my little portly working class Nana did.

And while she was special to me, she wasn't unique. There were millions of Nanas with that same level of love and loyalty.

She was a matriarch with an army behind her. Cultivated through her womb and her heart.

Something that overeducated whores can never achieve with bloated paychecks.

Modern women can wageslave and screech as much as they want. They will forever be inferior to the Nanas of the world. And their empty funeral halls will prove it.
