2021-09-13 03:24:15 Maybank Kim Eng Technical Research Regional Traders’ Almanac 20210913 ASEAN Equities: The All-Powerful Golden Crossover Signal Appears

Support intact, new higher low structure in place and there’s a golden crossover signal…
The mid-week reversal culminated into a “morning star” candlestick pattern – suggesting the index is set to resume the prior uptrend. Backed by an uptick in the RSI and the powerful golden crossover signal between the 50 and 200-day EMA lines, we expect the uptrend to continue in the near term.

The index is set to re-challenge the upper resistance zones ahead. For this week, we highlight a pair of buy/sell stocks for markets across the ASEAN region.
MALAYSIA – Buy Cypark Resources & Sell EP Manufacturing
INDONESIA – Buy Charoen Pokphand & Sell Bank Rakyat Agro
PHILIPPINES – Buy Ayala Land & Sell D.M. Wenceslao
SINGAPORE – Buy DBS & Sell Yinda Infocomm
THAILAND – Buy Bangkok Dusit Medical & Sell Sri Trang Gloves
VIETNAM – Buy Mobile World Dev. & Sell Hoang Anh Gia Lai

MKE Key Calls
Sea Ltd (SE US) - Southeast Asian Champion
We believe Sea is one of the best proxies to ride the ASEAN digitisation theme, given Shopee’s position as the top e-commerce app regionally, which paves the way for user conversion into digital finance. Growth in these segments appear at an early stage, and investments are funded by cash generative Garena via the Free Fire franchise. Initiate BUY with TP of USD378. Key risk is revenue concentration, as we think Free Fire accounts for a significant portion of current gross profitability.

MY
o The KLCI will likely continue its pattern of range-bound trading after Wall Street ended weaker last week. Plantation stocks may extend its downward trajectory after CPO prices skidded but the relaxation of SOP should help to revive economic activities, which will lend support to market sentiment. Technically, we expect the benchmark index to range between 1,560 and 1,590 today, with supports at 1,555 and 1,527.

o Sarawak Oil Palms (SOP MK): While SOP has revised down its FFB output guidance for FY21E, it is still anticipating better HoH output in 2H21. And SOP will likely continue to enjoy the high CPO ASP thus far in 2H21 given its minimal forward sales. We are keeping our earnings forecasts, and TP of MYR5.80 on unchanged 14x FY22E PER peg, its 5Y mean. It trades at just 8x FY21E PER and unadjusted EV/ha of MYR28,000 (near replacement cost). BUY.

o Kerjaya Prospek (KPG MK): Was awarded a contract by Sunrise Alliance S/B, a subsidiary company of UEM Sunrise (UEMS MK, BUY, TP: MYR0.43) to undertake building works for a proposed residential development project in Bandar Putra Permai, Selangor. The MYR126.1m contract is Kerjaya’s fifth win of the year, lifting its YTD win to MYR649.6m. Stock is trading at 10.4x consensus FY22 EPS.

o Sarawak Consolidated (SCIB MK): Its wholly-owned subsidiary SCIB Infraworks S/B was awarded a MYR16.3m engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract for the development of a solid waste transfer station in Pontian, Johor. This contract award will help to replenish its outstanding order book which stood at MYR2.4b as at Jun 2021. Stock is trading at 8x annualised FY6/21 core EPS.

MKE Key Calls
Philippines Consumer - Still trying

The Philippines has already breached 2.1m COVID-19 cases since the onset of the pandemic. As of 08 Sept, the positivity rate is at 28.1%, ICU bed utilization rate is above the critical 70% threshold and an estimated 70% of transmissions attributed to the Delta variant. With data from the Department of Health (DOH) indicating that NCR and CALABARZON (Region 4A) account for 50% of total active cases, the government extended the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) restriction over NCR, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna and Bulacan until 15 Sep.

MY
o Expect the market to trade in a cautious mode as the weaker overnight Wall Street will weigh on sentiment. Investors will also take a more cautious stance ahead of the weekend break. Technically, we expect the KLCI to range between 1,550 and 1,600 today, with supports at 1,555 and 1,527.

o Sasbadi (SASB MK): its wholly-owned The Malaya Press S/B (TMP) was awarded a MYR0.72m contract by the Ministry of Education to publish, print and supply the textbook. The contract is from 8 Sep 2021 to 7 Sep 2024. The first tranche (MYR0.36m) is expected to be delivered in 2QFY8/22. YTD, share price has risen by 40%. Stock is trading at a P/B of 0.6x.

o Leon Fuat (LEFU MK): 2Q21 PATMI grew 12x YoY to MYR32.1m, which brought 1H21 PATMI to MYR68.2m (18x YoY). The stronger 1H21 results were mainly attributable to higher tonnage sales coupled with higher selling prices. No dividend was declared for the quarter. YTD, stock price has risen 87%. Stock is trading 2.8x annualized 1H21 EPS of 40sen.

o Pasukhas (PSK MK): Entered into a MoU with Porto Three Sixty S/B and Perbadanan Ketua Menteri Melaka to collectively tender for a public-private partnership project at Sungai Udang, Melaka. Under the MoU, the consortium, in which Pasukhas has a majority stake, will construct and operate a waste treatment plant/ waste to energy plant under a build, operate and transfer model. A point of caution is that PSK has been in the red since FY18, only to report a PATMI of MYR0.3m in 1Q21. Stock trades at a P/B of 1.5x.
