The controversial "boots on the ground" comment drew a swift and very public rebuke from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and angered U.S. officials, who privately say such a move could even provoke a clash with Moscow.
It also writes that through the Ukrainian issue, “Macron wants to manage Europe’s foreign policy,” but “not everyone agrees with this.”
“His hawkish approach has angered some allies, who intend to increase aid to Ukraine (without direct involvement in the conflict - Ed .),” the article says.
Bloomberg points out that the statements of the French president “were not very smart” also because “specialists from many countries are in Ukraine.”
