The Gulf countries are trying to avoid a war between Iran and Israel, Reuters writes, citing its own sources in the Middle East.
They are trying with all their might to stop a full-scale war in the region, the likelihood of which has increased after Iran's retaliatory strike on Israel.
These countries fear that they will be quickly drawn into this war if it breaks out. Some states are geographically located just between the two adversaries, and on their territory there are several US military bases that have promised to defend Israel in the event of a direct conflict.
“Nobody needs escalation. Everyone wants to somehow contain the situation. Pressure is being put not only on Iran, but also on Israel so that it does not take retaliatory measures,” said a person close to government circles in the Persian Gulf.
