FRANCE TO GRANT VISAS TO AFGHANS AS AFGHANISTAN FALLS TO TALIBAN With the American withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Taliban is regaining the initiative : some say the country could fall to the Taliban as early as the end of the year.
Because of these developments, France has announced that it will offer visas to Afghans who wish to flee and come to France: this will target Afghans who have worked with France, the embassy or French associations.
While the decision may seem humanistic, some in France are already criticizing this choice. They fear that it will be used as a pretext and as an incentive for mass immigration of Afghans who will claim that their country is at war to obtain asylum in France.
In fact, if Afghanistan falls, new migration flows to Europe will develop. First of all, Afghans themselves will come. Then with the arrival of North Africans posing as Afghans to obtain asylum in France and Europe, as in 2015...
