Niantic has announced a new sustainability campaign on their blog, with in-game benefits for Ingress!

The company is inviting players and community members to join their efforts in supporting our planet. This year, the spotlight is shining on the big impact that intentional, individual actions can make on combating climate change and caring for our planet in sustainable ways.

This is how you can take part in the event!

Step 1
Choose either one of these activities:
• Take care of your community
• Plant a tree, shrub or native plants
• Get outside and pick up trash
• Build a Bee Hotel
• Adopt a new sustainability practice:
• Commute Sustainably
• Become a DIY expert
• Choose reusable over disposable
• Help out a local cause focused on sustainability:
• Support a local cause
• Volunteer your time
• Learn about your local Environment
(Niantic will donate 5000$ to the three non-profit organizations who get tagged the most in social posts!)

Step 2
From April 20th @ 18:00 UTC to April 23rd @ 23:59 UTC, record your sustainability actions and share them on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram using the hashtag #SustainableWithNiantic and tag @NianticLabs!

Step 3
Enjoy your rewards from April 23rd @ 16:00 UTC to April 26th @ 16:00 UTC!
• Tier 1 (2500 participating players)
2x hack rate of Heatsinks, Multihacks, Shields (all rarity) and Power Cubes (all levels including Hyper Cubes)
• Tier 2 (5000 participating players)
Tier 1 bonus + 2x AP on deployed Resonators
