Niantic published release notes for Ingress' new update, v2.76.1. It will reach your scanners soon!

In this version, Portal Scanning now displays hexagonal points to "provide more visual feedback during the scanning flow" (see picture), and the Aerodyne avatar by IQTech was added to the game.

As far as bug fixes are concerned, the Reassign Portal button in the tutorial now has consistent styling and passcodes which include a Portal Key won't hang the redeeming animation any longer.
