Niantic has released the rules for the Echo Anomalies, which will be held on April 22nd, May 20th and June 17th 2023!

Each Primary site is worth 600 points total, while every Satellite site is worth 200. Both these total are evenly split between Battle Beacons and Flash Shards Challenges.

Anomaly Zone Battle Beacons
7 Battle Beacon Waves in 3 hours, one starting every 25 minutes.
Each Battle Beacon is worth 2+3+4 = 9 points based on checkpoints won.
Battle Category does not influence the score.
Volatile Battle Beacons are worth 3x the base points.
The maximum score for each Faction from any of the Beacon Battle Waves during the Anomaly Period will be their raw score. The 100 or 300 points will be split proportionally to the raw score.

Anomaly Zone Flash Shards
20 Shards in batches of 4 and 4 Target Portals in batches of 1 at Satellite sites
60 Shards in batches of 12 and 12 Target Portals in batches of 3 at Primary sites
Shards jump on L4+ links every 10 minutes
A new batch of Shards spawns every 35 minutes
A new batch of Targets spawns every 40 minutes
The first five Shards secured on a Faction’s Target Portal will score 5 scoring points per Shard regardless of which Faction controlled that Target Portal at the time. Any additional Shards after the fifth are scored at 0 points.

ECHO Medal
Interact with at least 5 Anomaly Zone Battle Beacons to obtain the Medal. Valid Actions include:
• Deploy or Upgrade Resonator (not your own)
• Attack or Destroy Resonator
• Destroy Portal Mod
• Destroy Link
• Recharge Resonator (Remote Recharge, too)

Linking under Field
Every Anomaly weekend, from Friday at 1700 UTC to Monday at 1700 UTC, links shorter than 8km in length can be created under Field.
