Niantic has released the rules for the #CTRL Anomalies, which will take place on July 15, August 19, and September 16!

Each Primary location is worth a total of 600 points, while each Satellite location is worth 200 points. These two totals will be split evenly between Battle Beacons and Flash Shards Challenges.

Agents from around the world will be able to support their faction on August 19 and September 16 through the Agent Ops feature! This will distribute 200 more points in Phase 2 and 3.

Anomaly Zone Battle Beacons
7 Battle Beacon waves in 3 hours, one every 25 minutes.
Each Battle Beacon is worth 2+3+4 = 9 points, based on checkpoints won.
Battle category does not affect the score.
Volatile Battle Beacons are worth 3x the base points.
The maximum score for each faction from any of the Battle Beacon waves during the Anomaly Period is their raw score. The 100 or 300 points are divided in proportion to the raw score.

Flash Shards Challenges
20 Shards in groups of 2 and 4 target portals OR 50 Shards in groups of 5 and 10 target portals, depending on "XM intensity"
Shards jump via L4+ links every 10 minutes
A new batch of shards is generated every 15 minutes
Each shard is worth 2 points at Satellite sites and 6 points at Primary sites
The first five shards secured on a faction's target portal are counted, regardless of which faction controls the target portal at that time. Any additional shards after the fifth on the same target portal scores 0 points.

CTRL Connected Ops
On the Saturday of the second and third phase, each agent will be assigned 10 ops (tasks/quests) to complete between 00:00 and 23:59 local time, which are:

M1 - Capture 1k MU
F1 - Create 1 control field
M2 - Capture 50k MU
F2 - Create 50 control fields
M3 - Capture 150k MU
F3 - Create 150 control fields
M4 - Capture 500k MU
F4 - Create 500 control fields
M5 - Capture 1.5M MU
F5 - Create 1,500 control fields

Each Op completed counts as one raw point for your faction. The 200 score points are distributed in proportion to the faction's raw points achieved.

Completing one or more Ops does not count towards the Anomaly Medal! You still have to fulfill the requirements, which are as follows.

Ctrl Medal
Interact with at least 5 Battle Beacons in the Anomaly Zone to earn the medal. Valid actions are:
- Deploy or upgrade resonators (not your own).
- Attack or destroy resonators
- Destroy portal mods
- Destroy links
- Recharge resonators (even remotely).

Completing one or more ops does not count towards the anomaly medal!

Links under fields
On any anomaly weekend, from Friday at 1700 UTC to Monday at 1700 UTC, links less than 8 km long can be created under field.
