Locals warn of health risks as burials take place in damaged, flooded cemeteries following heavy rains

Heavy rains that have hit Peru since March have had a devastating impact on those wanting to say goodbye to loved ones, with cemeteries remaining flooded and burials taking place in waterlogged tombs, as seen in footage from Tucume cemetery, Lambayeque, on Sunday.

Footage shows workers in knee-deep water, wearing protective suits while carrying and transferring a coffin into a tomb during a burial service. Other broken tombs and debris can also be seen.
