Consultant class recruiting top Trump people to sell DeSantis as less baggaged Trump.
The sad part is in trying to be like Trump (policy) without being like Trump (personality) then voters, once again, have well-spoken politicians saying things people want to hear.
I disagree with Trump on a few things: he’s weak on sodomy, was wrong to do stimulus checks bc he was wrong to entertain lockdowns (I owned restaurants & remember him saying “Don’t go to restaurants”), wrong not to use military after 2020 elections, woefully wrong on vaccines (still).
But Trump changed politics. He brought swagger, personality, & nationalism to American politics - three individualistic hedges that will endure in a very pro-speech way.
The globalists hate him. He did great on judges. He showed us how effective outsiders are in politics.
Naturally, those riding his coattails will keep doing so until they see new opportunities, but for the common folks - who arent climbing ladders for influence in politics - we see Trump as a flawed man who put his life, family, & livelihood on the line for the nation we live (that is dying).
All of this to say that without Christ, none of it matters.
Trump showed me effective retail politics & national reorientation in a good way.
Christ shows me the way, the truth, and the life.
Keep your eyes on Christ. Politics matters but not nearly as much as Christ’s kingdom advancing His gospel.
