This is Josh Zwagil. As I was riding around today, I was thinking of what to share with you guys as we get closer to convention.
Convention itself is an inspiring, fun, and powerful experience. There are always new products, impactful trainings, real stories, recognition, and more. It’s a time where the company celebrates its leaders, and everyone comes together. It can be a catalyst to your business, an electric shock, or a rocket that sends your business to the moon.
But how come only certain leaders walk away with their businesses and lives changed, and others don’t? It all boils down to how to get the most out of convention.
5 Things To Do To Get The Most out of Convention:
1. Making sure your entire team is plugged in
If you knew that there was an event coming where the information revealed could drastically change someone’s business, would it be worth it to you to get everyone in your team plugged into that info? Imagine every person you got to the event (either physically or virtually) went to the next rank after the event. This means that from NOW until convention, you should spend the majority of your energy and effort plugging your team into the event. Make sure everyone (including inactive, people on the fence, or anyone looking to reboot their business) has access to a live stream ticket.
2. Building your prospect / pre launch list
It’s no secret that at convention there are exciting product announcements. Sales, discounts, new products, and more. Who do you talk to after all of this exciting stuff is released? If you develop a large enough prospect / pre launch list, you can get the most out of the exciting announcements. The bigger your list, the bigger your impact.
3. Attending all sessions and taking notes
Although convention is a fun time to celebrate and hang with your team, don’t make it a habit bailing on sessions. And don’t forget to take notes. You’d be surprised to know that the leaders who attend and take notes are usually the leaders who show up next year at a higher rank.
4. Get your communication game ready
When exciting announcements are made during the event, how are you going to inform your team and customers? You need a communication plan! Are you going to email and text your team? Do you have a group where you will be sharing details? Are you going to call all of your core leaders? Make sure you know your plan for communication as the event approaches. You want to get the information out to as many people as quickly as possible.
5. Post, share, and celebrate
Post & share the exciting announcements, new products, things you learned, biggest takeaways, and what inspired you. Don’t just “sell” new stuff to your audience. Talk about where you are and what you will become. And finally, don’t forget to celebrate. You may of worked really hard the last few years, as well as your team. This is a good chance for you to connect with your team, take pictures, celebrate your success, and work towards a new & brighter future.
