The following figures come from Health Canada’s database on COVID-19. (Link to database: https://health-infobase.canada.ca/covid-19/epidemiological-summary-covid-19-cases.html?stat=num&measure=deaths)

Of the 350,000 cases for Canadians under 20, only 1,824 have been hospitalized. A significant number of these were incidental hospitalizations — meaning they went to hospital because they were suffering from something completely unrelated but happened to test positive for the virus during routine screening.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 17 COVID-related deaths in Canada among children and teenagers. Not 17,000, not 1,700. Just 17.

That makes up 0.1% of all COVID deaths in Canada. The COVID case-fatality rate for Canadians under the age of 20, therefore, is 0.002%.

COVID is not a threat to kids. It wouldn’t even make the list of the top 10 causes of death for children.

The numbers show that a fully vaccinated adult is still at a much greater risk of being hospitalized or dying from COVID than an unvaccinated child.

Further to my post yesterday, I want you all to know that my position would change should covid in children become a deadly or harmful disease and there was a safe and effective vaccine for it. Since neither of those are accurate or true, my position remains.

2021-11-08 02:06:58 Just because you don’t have the same education as a scientist or a medical doctor or a pharmaceutical sales rep does not mean they know what is best for your child or better than you do if you take the time to educate yourself.

I am totally over the rhetoric of “stay in your lane”, “you’re not a doctor”, “trust the scientists”, “go back to being a mom”. This is people trying to silence you. Bully you. Don’t let them put out your light.

This translates to “you’re not smart enough to read, you don’t have a brain, you can’t possibly know how to read research, to make informed decisions for the health of your body or your child”.

But…. YOU ARE.

The only thing standing between a pharmaceutical company and your child is YOU. It’s your responsibility to be informed.
