Roles and responsibilities:
Programmes Development and Implementation
Assists in Implementing sustainable fisheries, species conservation, and livelihoods initiatives for fishers in the Coastal Kenya Programme (CKP).
Assists in Providing regular capacity building, environmental education, awareness and mentoring sessions to various community groups, volunteers and pupils in CKP.
Prepares and presents technical reports on the progress of implementation of conservation project activities in line with WWF reporting schedule.
Assists in developing communication materials to project work to relevant stakeholders and platforms.
With M & E officer, assists in developing formats and checklists for participatory monitoring at all levels of the programme; design a template for database management (indicator, baseline data and targets).
Ensures prudent management and safety of conservation assets and resources in their custody;
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Resource Management
Assist in Implementing approved marine project budgets in line with the WWF Kenya project implementation policies and guidelines.
Ensure prudent management and safety of assets and resources in designated areas.

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in natural resource management, environmental science, marine science, aquatic ecology, biology of conservation, or related field. Other additional professional trainings in related fields will be an added advantage.
3 years of experience in integrated coastal and marine conservation, fisheries management, implementation of sustainable fisheries and livelihoods improvement initiatives.
Desired- experience on working with BMUs and other marine & coast based CSOs, willingness to work in the field in the hot coastal weather and willingness to work and travel in the sea.

Working Relationships

Internal: Interacts with WWF-Kenya Senior Management, Programme Managers and all WWF-Kenya staff

External: Interacts with Civil Society Organizations, the private sector and other Conservation Agencies.
