Warning: After one of the upcoming Bot API updates, some user identifiers will become bigger than 2^31 - 1 and it will be no longer possible to store them in a signed 32-bit integer type. User identifiers will have up to 52 significant bits, so a 64-bit integer or double-precision float type would still be safe for storing them. Auto-Delete, Widgets and Expiring Invite Links and More..

Auto-Delete Messages
• Set messages to auto-delete for everyone 24 hours or 7 days after sending.
• Control auto-delete settings in any of your chats, as well as in groups and channels where you are an admin.
• To enable auto-delete, press and hold on any message > Select > Clear Chat in the top left corner.
Android : tap 3-dot button in the top right corner > Clear History > choose a duration > Enable Auto-Delete
iOS : press and hold on any message > Select > Clear Chat in the top left corner > Enable Auto-Delete
TDesktop : right click on the chat in the chat list > Clear History > Enable Auto-Delete.

Expiring Invite Links for Groups and Channels
• Create invite links that work for a limited time or a limited number of uses.
• See which users joined using your, or your admins’, invite links.
• Turn any invite link into a QR code users can scan with their phone cameras.
• To manage invite links, open your Group or Channel Profile > Edit > Invite Links.
Android : open your Group or Channel Profile > tap the Pencil Button > Invite Links
iOS : open your Group or Channel Profile > Click Edit > Invite Links
TDesktop : click 3-dot button > Manage Group/Channel > Invite Links

Groups with Unlimited Members
• Convert groups that have reached the 200,000 member limit into unlimited Broadcast Groups.

Home Screen Widgets
• Access your chats quickly right from your home screen.
• To add a widget, press and hold on your home screen, then tap Widgets on Android or the (+) on iOS14+ and search for Telegram.

Improved Chat Import
• Keep messages sorted by their original sending date when moving chat history from other apps. Works if the target chat on Telegram is new or has fewer than 1000 messages.

New More Animated Emoji
• Send a single to see the latest animated emoji.

Telegram processes millions of user reports each month to make sure the platform is not abused. To help make this more efficient, we will now always ask you to select specific messages when sending a report.

Additionally, all reporting options allow you to add a comment to give more context – like when reporting fake accounts.

Telegram groups allow up to 200,000 members to exchange messages, media and stickers. Groups that are close to the limit can now convert into Broadcast Groups that allow unlimited members.
Converting to a Broadcast Group makes it so that only admins can send messages, but members can still join voice chats.

Broadcast Groups are ideal for large communities, where people can follow along and catch exclusive interviews, news, or just casual talks.

Any invite link can be converted into a scannable QR Code to put on everything from brochures to billboards. You can also see which users joined using each invite link to find out where new members came from or which format has been most effective for growth.

To view and manage invite links, tap to open your Group or Channel's Profile > Edit > Invite Links. Tap (⋮) or (⋯) to convert a link to a QR Code.
