1. Devastate (verb) C1 - to destroy a place or thing completely. Or to make someone feel very shocked and upset.
1) I was so devastated, and I was crying constantly.
2) The town was devastated by a hurricane in 1928.


2. Discharge (verb) C1 - to allow someone to leave.
1) Allen was discharged from the hospital yesterday.
2) Patients were discharged from the hospital because the beds were needed by other people.


3. Discourage (verb) B2 - to make someone feel less confident. Or try to prevent something happening or someone doing something
1) We tried to discourage him from spending so much money.
2) I don't want to discourage her, just keep going!


4. Domain (noun) C1 - The land that a ruler or a government controls. Or an area of knowledge or activity.

once in a while though, children can be exposed to some inappropriate material on some sites that contain violence or have sexual references which is not good

I usually keep up to date with the current affairs by watching the news on TV.

3. Naive - Too willing to believe since they are young or not having much experience of life.
Young children are quite naive, they are likely to believe what they hear or see without really questioning it

4. keep an eye on - to look after someone or something and make sure that they are safe
Parental supervision is a must, they should keep an eye on their online activities.

We've seen lots of advances in technology and internet up untill now. Yet, the internet has a long way to go

7. Celebraty gossip - gossip about celebrities, especially when reported in the media.
I find articles about celebraties lives appealing. You might find this a bit silly, but I like to read celebraty gossip.

8. Pretend - to behave as if something is true when in fact you know it is not, in order to deceive people or for fun
If they are chatting to somebody who pretends to be a good person, it can cause some unpredictable consequences
