In short, what is a Summer Work and Travel program?
The program is mainly for university students, part-time students and colleges students are not eligible to participate. The program allows students to work and travel abroad, for example in the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom. The program is available worldwide, but each country has its own restrictions.
As the name itself says, you can only participate in this program during the summer holidays, otherwise you must be in school. In Uzbekistan, as far as I know, the Summer Work and Travel program only allows you to work and travel in the United States, and I don't know yet whether it is possible to travel to other countries through this program.
Is there an age limit?
According to the official website of the US Embassy, there is no age limit, it is important to be a university student.

The cost of the program ?! This price varies in different countries. When I first participated, I paid about $ 2,800 for the program. The second time I went, it was $ 3,300. Who do you pay this money? To the sponsor! That is, you need to contact your J-1 (VISA) sponsor. Your sponsor is tasked with assisting and advising you on all matters relating to your J-1 exchange visit program.

It is better to do it earlier, because there is a lot of demand in Uzbekistan. As far as I know, registration will open in September, and if I'm not mistaken, it will last until December. You need to register with a sponsor, which means that the most important thing here is to find one.
Is it worth the money to participate in this program?
Yes for some, no for others. But from my personal experience, this program is worth the money you spend!
What jobs can I do during the program?
Basically, you can work as a waiter or assistant cook in a restaurant. Salesman, hotel room attendant, park cashier, supplier and so on.
