The President of the United States of America has two roles.
He is the Chief Executive Officer of our country. He is also the Commander in Chief of the United States Military.
As the Chief Executive Officer, the President’s goals domestically for the country are hampered by the necessity of dealing with the politics of the competing political parties and “the wannabe next President.”
With respect to foreign policy or wars, the President has little or no concerns about domestic policy fights and matters. He has almost unfettered authority to act on foreign policy matters.
In a time of war, which role is more important???
Chief Executive Officer or Commander in Chief???
I believe our nation is at war.
I am more concerned about who the military recognizes to be our nation’s REAL Commander in Chief (CIC) than I am over the “optics” of who the public “thinks” is our Chief Executive Officer.
After all, if we lose the war, the role of Chief Executive Officer is irrelevant. The enemy takes control of the country both on domestic and foreign policy matters. If we win the war, the REAL President can right the course of our nation on both fronts, domestic and foreign policy.
Of course, that is just my analysis and opinion.
What is yours???
