2021-03-30 04:39:32 Wonderful Seven-storied Gopuram with 11 kalashas dated back to 14th-15th century.
This Gopuram belongs to Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Tirupati, Andhrapradesh. This temple dedicated to Bhagwan Vishnu as Govindarajaswamy was Conserected by Shri Ramanujacharya in 1130 CE.

It's heart-wrenching to see the condition of the 2000-year-old Sri Agastheeswarar temple in Tamil Nadu.

It is completely in ruins with broken walls and collapsed gopuram with no one to take care of it or do the daily poojas.

Time to stop this atrocity!

Classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, this historic town is also the “World’s Largest Open-air Museum” and covers an area of nearly 29 sq km. Vijayanagara Empire at its peak was very prosperous and was believed to be larger than Rome with palaces grander than of Lisbon.

2021-03-29 12:31:02 Prahladpuri Mandir of Multan in Pakistan, where Holi originated, now used as toilet!

According to Puranas, this was the place where Holika was burnt. It was believed by Hindus that this Mandir was built by Bhakta Prahalada himself.

Multan was formerly known as Kasyapa-Pura (city of Kashyapa).

This Prahladpuri Mandir once housed devotees and pilgrims from all over Indian subcontinent.
It was a very famous pilgrim site, now a garbage dump!

2021-03-28 17:59:13 Swaminarayan Akshardham in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India is a large Hindu temple complex inspired by Yogiji Maharaj (1892-1971) the fourth spiritual successor of Swaminarayan, and created by Pramukh Swami Maharaj (1921-2016), the fifth spiritual successor of Swaminarayan according to the BAPS denomination of Swaminarayan Hinduism. Located in the capital of Gujarat, the complex was built over 13 years and is a tribute to Swaminarayan and his life and teachings. At the center of the 23-acre complex is the Akshardham mandir, which is built from 6,000 metric tons of pink sandstone from Rajasthan. The complex's name refers to the divine abode of Swaminarayan in the BAPS philosophy; followers of Swaminarayan believe that the jiva or soul goes to Akshardham after attaining moksha, or liberation. BAPS followers worship Swaminarayan as God almighty.

Treacherously, Holika coaxed young Prahlad to sit in her lap and she herself took her seat in a blazing fire. The legend has it that Holika had to pay the price of her sinister desire by her life. Holika was not aware that the boon worked only when she entered the fire alone.

Prahlad, who kept chanting the name of God Naarayana all this while, came out unharmed, as the God blessed him for his extreme devotion.

Thus, Holi derives its name from Holika. And, is celebrated as a festival of victory of good over evil.

2021-03-28 14:15:45 There was once a demon king by the name of Hiranyakashyap who won over the kingdom of earth. He was so egoistic that he commanded everybody in his kingdom to worship only him. But to his great disappointment, his son, Prahlad became an ardent devotee of God Naarayana and refused to worship his father.

Hiranyakashyap tried several ways to kill his son Prahlad but God Vishnu saved him every time. Finally, he asked his sister, Holika to enter a blazing fire with Prahlad in her lap. For, Hiranyakashyap knew that Holika had a boon, whereby, she could enter the fire unscathed.
