- Mathikettan in Tamil means, 'mind confuser', local people say that one forgets the path once he enters into the park.

- Located between Eravikulam National Park and Pampadum Shola National Park.

- Rivers : Uchillkuthi Puzha, Mathikettan Puzha, and Njandar (tributaries of Panniyar)

- Highest point : Kattumala

- Vegetation : Evergreen forests, moist deciduous forests, shola grasslands, semi-evergreen forest

- Fauna : Tiger, Nilgiri Tahr, Elephant

Forest Type: Moist Evergreen, Semi-Evergreen, Thorn, Savannah Woodland, Sholas and Grassland

Endemic Fauna: Nilgiri tahr, Nilgiri langur, Lion – tailed macaque

Climate: Annual Rainfall- 500mm-7000mm
Temperature- 0-41 C

It is a World Natural Heritage site and part of World Network of Biosphere reserves.

Sinai Peninsula

The Sinai Peninsula or simply Sinai is apeninsula in Egypt, and the only part of
the country locatedin Asia.

It is situated between the Mediterranean Sea to the north and the Red Sea to the south, and is a land bridge between Asia and Africa.

On its southwest shore is Gulf of Suez and on southeast shores is Gulf of Aqaba.

It is linked to the African continent by the Isthmus of Suez, containing the Suez Canal.

Israel is located to the east of Sinai Peninsula.

Strait of Malacca, waterway connecting the Andaman Sea (Indian Ocean) and the South China Sea (Pacific Ocean).

It runs between the Indonesian island of Sumatra and peninsular Malaysia  to the east.
