TheĀ tricuspid valve is on the right dorsal side of the heart, at the superior portion of theĀ right ventricle. The function of the valve is to prevent back flow (regurgitation) ofĀ bloodĀ from the right ventricle into theĀ right atriumĀ during right ventricular contraction. The tricuspid valve usually has threeĀ cusps or leaflets, named the anterior, posterior, and septal cusps.Ā Each leaflet is connected viaĀ chordae tendineaeĀ to the anterior, posterior, and septalĀ papillary musclesĀ of theĀ right ventricle, respectively.
The tricuspid valve functions as a one-way valve that closes duringĀ ventricular systoleĀ to prevent regurgitation of blood from the right ventricle back into the right atrium. It opens during ventricular diastole, allowing blood to flow from the right atrium into the right ventricle.

Severe alcoholic liver cirrhosis
Alcoholic liver diseaseĀ (ALD),Ā also calledĀ alcohol-related liver diseaseĀ (ARLD), is a term that encompasses theĀ liverĀ manifestations ofĀ alcoholĀ overconsumption, includingĀ fatty liver,Ā alcoholic hepatitis, and chronicĀ hepatitisĀ with liverĀ fibrosisĀ orĀ cirrhosis.
Cirrhosis is a late stage of serious liver disease marked byĀ inflammationĀ (swelling),Ā fibrosisĀ (cellular hardening) and damaged membranes preventing detoxification of chemicals in the body, ending in scarring andĀ necrosis. AcetaldehydeĀ may be responsible for alcohol-induced fibrosis by stimulatingĀ collagenĀ deposition byĀ hepatic stellate cells.

TheĀ spinal cordĀ is a long, thin, tubular structure made up ofĀ nervous tissue, which extends from theĀ medulla oblongataĀ in theĀ brainstemĀ to theĀ lumbarĀ region of theĀ vertebral column. It encloses theĀ central canalĀ of the spinal cord, which containsĀ cerebrospinal fluid. TheĀ brainĀ and spinal cord together make up theĀ central nervous systemĀ (CNS). The spinal cord begins at theĀ occipital bone, passing through theĀ foramen magnumĀ and entering theĀ spinal canalĀ at the beginning of theĀ cervical vertebrae. The spinal cord extends down to between the first and secondĀ lumbar vertebrae, where it ends. The enclosing bony vertebral column protects the relatively shorter spinal cord.

Common brain lesions on FLAIR MRI
Fluid-attenuated inversion recoveryĀ (FLAIR) is anĀ MRI sequenceĀ with anĀ inversion recoveryĀ set to null fluids. For example, it can be used in brain imaging to suppressĀ cerebrospinal fluidĀ (CSF) effects on the image, so as to bring out the periventricular hyperintense lesions.
The FLAIR sequence analysis has been especially useful in the evaluation and study of CNS disorders, involving:
ā Lacunar infarction
ā Multiple sclerosis (MS) plaques
ā Subarachnoid haemorrhage
ā Head trauma
ā MeningitisĀ and otherĀ leptomeningeal diseases

This heart-shaped blood clot formed after the blood tranfusion was stopped and the bag detached.
Blood transfusionĀ is the process of transferringĀ blood productsĀ into one'sĀ circulationĀ intravenously. Transfusions are used for various medical conditions to replace lost components of the blood. Early transfusions usedĀ whole blood, but modern medical practice commonly uses only components of the blood, such asĀ red blood cells,Ā white blood cells,Ā plasma,Ā clotting factors, andĀ platelets.
Red blood cells (RBC) containĀ hemoglobin, and supply theĀ cellsĀ of the body withĀ oxygen. White blood cells are not commonly used during transfusion, but are part of the immune system, and fight infections.Ā PlasmaĀ is the "yellowish" liquid part of blood, which acts as a buffer, and contains proteins and important substances needed for the body's overall health. Platelets are involved in blood clotting, preventing the body from bleeding.
