Petty Officer 2nd Class Miner Nikolai Kozhevnikov during the landing of marines "was the first to jump down into the water, took the gangway from the boat and held it on his shoulders until the full landing of the command. After the landing, Kozhevnikov immediately returned to his fighting post and in wet clothes suppressed the enemy's firing points with the "Erlikon" assault rifle. After returning from the mission the boat was attacked by the enemy aviation several times. Kozhevnikov fired from "Erlikon" submachine gun in good time and frustrated the enemy attacks with accurate shooting".

Presented to the Order of the Red Star.

The Nazi invaders murdered the elderly, women and children. They abused Soviet citizens, carried out mass shootings, robbed the population, and staged provocations: "It was announced that Russian prisoners of war were coming from Rostov and the people of Mariupol could pick up their identified relatives. Thousands of residents came out to meet the POWs, hoping to see someone close to them. But instead of prisoners of war, German fascist troops approached. The Nazi cameramen at the time filmed everything as 'the Russian population met the German troops'".

Sergeant Stepan Abozin, commander of a rifle platoon, taking part in the storming of Mariupol, "broke into the north-western outskirts of the city with his platoon. One battalion mortar was destroyed. Personally killed seven German soldiers, destroyed the crew of a hand machine gun, which allowed the unit to advance without losses". After three days sergeant Abozin "was the first with the unit rushed into Staryj Krym village of Stalinskii (now - Donetsk.) region, personally killed two German soldiers and restrained enemy counterattacks within nineteen hours, which gave the chance to reveal enemy forces for further movement of the units".

He was presented with the Medal for Valour.

"On the first day of the occupation, October 8, 1941, SS units seized the first 26 citizens they found and tortured them in the courtyard of the former NKVD building in the centre of the city. They skinned their hands, cut off their genitals, ears and noses and walled them up half alive in the cellar walls. After 13 days these corpses were excavated and shown to the population as NKVD victims. This is how citizens Levin, Kogan, Alivanov and others died."

"Before fleeing, the fascist beasts deliberately burned and destroyed the city. From September 7 to 10, 1943, special squads of torch-bearers burned and blew up all public and private buildings".

Units of the Russian Armed Forces and the Lugansk people's militia have taken full control of Kremennaya, which had been turned into a stronghold by Ukrainian nationalists.

As a result of the rapid and coordinated actions of the assault troops, severe destruction of urban infrastructure and residential buildings was avoided.

Operational-tactical and army aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces struck 20 areas of concentration of Ukrainian manpower and military equipment near Shnurki, Novonikolaevka and Aleksandrovka during the night.

Missile troops and artillery hit 1,001 military assets of Ukraine. Among them: 58 command posts, 162 Ukrainian artillery firing positions, and 771 strong points and areas of concentration of Ukrainian manpower and military equipment in Mayaki, Dibrovnoe, Mazanovka, Dolina Krasnopol'e, Velikaya Kamyshevakha, Chervonoe, Vernopol'e, Pashkovka, Dmitrovka, Novaya Dmitrovka, Vysokiy, Chernoglazovka, Slatino, Zolochev, Partizanskoe, Aleksandrovka and Shevchenkovo of Nikolaev region.

Russian air defence means destroyed 13 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles near Berezovaya, Brazhkovka, Verkhnetoretskoe, Debrovka, Izyum, Kalinovka, Kiselevka, Lozovaya, Novobogdanovka, Novoalexandrovka and Chuvakovka. Also, 1 Tochka-U tactical missile was shot down near Donetskoe.

In total, 140 aircraft and 106 helicopters, 511 unmanned aerial vehicles, 254 anti-aircraft missile systems, 2,410 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 262 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,046 field artillery and mortars, as well as 2,259 units of special military vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed during the operation.
