While we take good care of our lower-income groups, we are also very focused on advancing the well-being of the broad middle of society. For the middle 20%, the amount of benefits they received was about twice the amount they paid in taxes.

#SGBudget2023: Assurance for Singaporeans
Both the permanent GSTV Scheme and the Assurance Package have been enhanced to support Singaporeans through higher inflation and to cushion the impact of the new GST rates.
This includes:
Increased cash payouts under both GSTV – Cash and AP Cash
More CDC vouchers in 2024
Additional support to seniors
Doubling of the U-Save rebates this year
Top-up to CDA and Edusave/PSEA accounts
A Cost-of-Living Special Payment of up to $400 for eligible Singaporeans
