zero.

When a charged particle enters with velocity at right

1) Ionisation energy is always endothermic.

2) Noble gases have highest IE 1 , alkali metals have highest IE 2 and alkaline earth metals have highest IE 3 in whole periodic table.

3) When there is a sudden jump between Ionisation energies(nearly 2 times difference ) there is a change in shell .

Eg- if Ionisation energies are 165 , 195, 556 , 990 kj/mole is given
B/w IP2 and IP3 there is 2 times difference in IE. So given element has 2 valence electron.

4) For IE1 directly compare and for comparing IE2 remove 1 electron then compare and IE3 remove 2 electron then compare.

5) Fully filled and half filled orbitals have more Ionisation energy than partially filled.

# Type-1 Let f (x) be a polynomial of degree 5 and with leading coefficient 10 . Let f (1) = 1 , f(2) = 3 , f (3)=5, f (4)=7 ,f (5)= 9
Find f (9) .

Ans- If someone writes f(6) = 11(Its wrong )

By observing values carefully, we get f (x) = 2x-1 .
Which Satisfies above values.

So, f (x) - (2x-1)= k (x-1)(x-2)(x-3)(x-4)(x-5)

Note - 1, 2 , 3 ,4 and 5 are roots of equation
f (x) -( 2x-1) =0 .Not of f (x)=0.

For f (6) , Put x=6 ,

f (6) - 11 = 10 (6-1)(6-2)(6-3)(6-4)6-5)

f (6) = 11+ 1200 = 1211

Here, K is leading coefficient .
