Keep a lookout for phishing messages claiming to be from the ‘bank’.

Scammers are sending phishing messages informing users of suspicious login attempts and transactions from their bank accounts. The message will include a malicious link to direct victims to resolve the issues on the website created by the scammers.

What's more, scammers go to the extent of spoofing the bank's SMS ID so their messages appear in the same thread as other messages sent by the actual banks.

Don’t click on links found in messages.

Never share your personal, bank account details or One-Time Passwords (OTPs) on unverified websites.

Access your bank account only through the official website or bank app.

If in doubt, always call your bank’s official number to verify.

This is a PSA message from Mr Brown on the latest bank phishing scam:

Remember to share this message with your loved ones and friends to alert them to this latest scam!

Received a job offer to earn commissions through buying and selling of movie tickets from a messaging application?

It is a scam! Do not accept dubious job offers that promise high income with minimal effort or download applications from unverified sources.

Unexpected refunds or unpaid fees? Double confirm first.

Scammers are spoofing the identities of trusted organisations to trick victims into sending their personal details and banking credentials.

Always verify the text messages and emails. Do not click on suspicious links and only use official websites or apps to access your account. Never provide personal info on unofficial websites.

Attractive investment offer? Sure or not?

Do not commit too quickly. Scammers are impersonating banks to tempt victims with investment schemes that promise high returns with little or no risk. Double check the credibility of unsolicited investment offers directly with the bank.

Always "Ask. Check. Confirm." first.

Free money? Don't fall for it!

Scammers are impersonating banks to inform individuals to receive free $20 Bicentennial Commemorative Note! Don’t click on dubious links from unsolicited messages and always access your bank account only via official websites or apps.
