Found it hard to tell them apart? Well, that may be because there are more than 30 species of sea stars in Singapore’s waters!

These sea stars are intricate animals with thin tissue around their feet to help them breathe in the water; if they are lifted from the water for long periods of time, they will suffocate. If you're at our intertidal zones, be sure to tread carefully and refrain from touching, collecting and trampling on the animals found there. Remember to take nothing but photos, and leave nothing but footprints!
