2022-01-05 16:03:26 Love this message from Tony Evans, about taking out the trash!

Thursday’s my day. I don’t know your home, but Thursday is trash day at the Evans house. So, every Thursday morning, I have the trash out by the curb in plenty of time for them to pick it up. I don’t want to miss them because then I’ll be stuck with smelly, stinky trash for another week. But you know what I have noticed about trash day? I have never had a trashman come to my front door and ring the doorbell, asking me where my trash is. I have never had that happen. If it’s not out there by the curb, they just move on.

It’s up to me to get it out there. Just like it’s up to you to carry your burden to Jesus. He says, “Come.” He doesn’t say to wait inside the confines of your own pain for Him to show up and take it all away. You need to take the step of taking your emotional and spiritual trash to Him. When you carry your burden to Christ, He will give you rest. He will take it away. He will remove the stench causing you to remain awake when you should be asleep. He will cart off the load piling high in your soul, taking up too much room and limiting you on what else can thrive within. He will do all of this, but you have to do something first—you have to carry your trash to Jesus Christ.

2022-01-04 16:47:23 Habakkuk 3:16-19

[16] I hear, and my body trembles;
my lips quiver at the sound;
rottenness enters into my bones;
my legs tremble beneath me.
Yet I will quietly wait for the day of trouble
to come upon people who invade us.

Habakkuk Rejoices in the LORD

[17] Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
[18] yet I will rejoice in the LORD;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
[19] GOD, the Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet like the deer’s;
he makes me tread on my high places.

After receiving the prophecy of impending doom for himself and his people, the prophet Habakkuk is left with such an overwhelming dread that he describes it as: “…my body trembles; my lips quiver…rottenness enters into my bones; my legs tremble beneath me.”
This is a man who knows who God is…he has just revisited many of God’s great acts at the start of this chapter, he knows who God is and what He and He alone is capable of. Habakkuk knows that God is:

Habakkuk 1:12

[12] Are you not from everlasting,
O LORD my God, my Holy One?
We shall not die.
O LORD, you have ordained them as a judgment,
and you, O Rock, have established them for reproof.

He knew God. God is eternal, He is sovereign and He is holy! This is where his faith rested…and ultimately why the prophet was able to then profess: “…yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.”

Even in the face of utter ruin for his nation and his people, even though Habakkuk knew his circumstances were going to be horrible, he chose to rejoice! Verse 17 expresses his understanding that things would get so bad that even the figs and olives would cease to produce…the herds would be cut off…these represent natural processes ending.

Yet Habakkuk chooses to rejoice…how? Because he knows who God is and what God is capable of and then his strength is restored:

Habakkuk 3:19

[19] GOD, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places.

How about you and me? Do we know our Heavenly Father so well that even coming destruction doesn’t rob us of our joy in Him?

When we find ourselves sickened with fear over our circumstances do we turn to God and choose to rejoice in Him?

May we each this day choose rejoicing over fear…May we each this day choose knowing God as He has revealed Himself through His Word over the understanding of man! Only then will we each truly find our joy restored!

2022-01-04 16:11:39 Grace

What does Grace mean?
Grace in New Testament Greek is "charis" (khar' - ece) Definitions include: favor, benefit, gift, benevolence or attitude toward another

Paul uses the word Grace in all 13 of his epistles. He uses the word in his greetings and in his final words of greeting. What is an "epistle" you may be asking? Epistle - Greek word is "epistole" (ep-is-tol-ay') Means a written message or letter. Usually written in response to circumstances that need to be dealt with promptly. This fits when you read Paul's letters dealing with various problems in the new churches.

Why? What kind of Grace is Paul referring to? From whom do we receive this Grace?

Grace comes from our Father in heaven through the blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

We all are born into sin and it is a condition of our heart. God knew we needed a Savior who would have to be sacrificed as the final blood offering in order to atone for our sins. Jesus came to reconcile us back to our Father in heaven through His death, burial and resurrection. God and our Lord Jesus Christ provided the free gift of His favor for our benefit though His benevolence and loving attitude towards us! GRACE!!

It is my prayer that if you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior that you will seek Him out today. He has already paid the price for every sin everyone has ever or will ever commit. Believe that He is the one and only Son of the Most High God, that He came for you, that He died, was buried and resurrected for you. That He ascended into heaven and has forgiven you all of your sins just for the asking, so that you can be reconciled back to your Father.

Here are the simple, but very powerful words of the Apostle Paul:

Romans 1:7
To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 16:20
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

1 Corinthians 1:3
Grace
to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 16:23
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.

2 Corinthians 1:2
Grace
to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 13:14
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Galatians 1:3
Grace
to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,

Galatians 6:18
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.

You get the idea; Ephesians 1:2 / 6:24 Philippians 1:2 / 4:23 Colossians 1:2 / 4:18 1 Thessalonians 1:1 / 5:28 2 Thessalonians 1:2 / 3:18 1 Timothy 1:2 / 6:21 2 Timothy 1:2 / 4:22 Titus 1:4 / 3:15 Philemon 1:3 / 1:25

Ephesians 2:8-9

(8
) For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, (9) not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

God loves you! Jesus loves you! I love you and desire you to have the same assurance of salvation that I have.

Grace to you and peace from our Father and Lord Jesus Christ!
Amen!!

2022-01-04 14:30:35 Don’t forget who you are, so you don’t act what you are not! In this wicked world it’s easy to get frustrated, loose site of reality and sometime even pushed to the limits!
Paul reminds us what we used to be here in

Ephesians 2:1-10
“And you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom we all also formerly conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.”

Dead, walking wickedly, under satanic powers, lustful, freshly, corrupt minds! All no good really! That’s who we were are as an unbeliever! That is until we are saved!

2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us!
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come”

You and I need to remember who we are, and what once were!

Paul divides Ephesians 2:1-10 at verse 4 with a three letter word! BUT! This is what you used to be, this is who you were!!!!!!! BUT!

4 But God, being rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Go has a work for you! He has a plan for you! He saved you, not based on your deed, but His grace and created a great work for you! So moving forward, don’t act like who you used to be, rather walk, live and act like who you are in Christ!
