The yearn to fly Mortal hearts yearn to take to the sky, But | Every Day Poems
The yearn to fly
Mortal hearts yearn to take to the sky,
But with clanging machines they try,
Their crafts wrought with metal and steel,
A far cry from what birds conceal.
For a feathered friend, no need for weighty wings,
With grace they glide on the wind's gentle flings,
Soaring above with effortless ease,
A sight that leaves humans to seize.
Yet, with ambition and our crafty mind,
We dare to chase what we may not find,
Building wonders that reach the sky,
Though no match for birds that gracefully fly.
