But who are you to stare down into the bit rot of me I shamed | Every Day Poems

But who are you to stare down into the bit rot of me I shamed to shed? Who are you tell-all the paddock is too vast for girl like me to be wondering so late at night? Do you know the stars in one's eyes will watch over me and the man in the moon is my guardian and I the life and soul of the sole party? Who are you to stark the line of thought that holds dear the bridge you walked on to reach out to me, the very same one that is preserving our existence? Did you know you aren't the standing stone of the foundation of where it all began? Of where the first phrase of the first prose was brought forth? Of where I taught you how to speak and what to voice? And now, out of the blue, you want to rule the kingdom you are a stranger to? You want to give a speech to the crowd you know nothing about? Dance with a lady who is not your betrothed?
