How do you become an innovator?
Only 30% of creativity is genetically determined, which means
it can be developed.
What sets innovators apart from ordinary people is their
innovative courage and five advanced research skills.
The first of the five research skills is a cognitive skill called
association.
Associating helps to open up new directions by connecting questions, ideas and problems that seem to have nothing in common.
The remaining skills are behavioural in nature. They are
asking questions, observing, networking and experimenting.
To develop research skills, you need to think about your priorities, assess your research skills, identify your motivation for developing them, and work on them.
