The cascading wave method is a planning method in which the plan is detailed as you go along. In other words, the project is not written out from start to finish: only the next steps are planned in detail, and the next steps are outlined in very general terms.
This approach is useful if the initial plan is likely to have to be changed or refined. We have the "freedom to manoeuvre": if something goes wrong, we can painlessly adjust our actions at any stage of the work.
The main disadvantage of the surge method is the inability to accurately forecast costs. We cannot determine timelines and calculate the accounting for a project, nor can we plan the consumption of materials and other resources. If this is important to us, it is best not to use the method.
