Statement from ProudBoys Canada:

It is with a heavy heart that I pen these words, knowing we have done nothing wrong. As of today there is officially no longer any Proud Boys in Canada, it’s officially dissolved. The truth is, we were never terrorists or a white supremacy group. As a fraternity of men we had thought of perusing the case legally but we have no financial support, given we are not funded by the rich. We are just regular patriotic Canadians. We are electricians, carpenters, financial advisors, mechanics, etc. More than that, we are fathers, brothers, uncles and sons. In the face of a tyrannical leftist government, we regular citizens were banned and outlawed for holding the same beliefs as the men who built this country.

The designation happened not based on evidence or incident, but for purely political reasons. In a free society anyone should be able to believe and speak their opinion. While you may not agree with it, it’s important that contrasting opinions have the right to exist. Without those basic freedoms, where are we, as a free nation headed?

Proud Boys Canada loves it’s Country and it’s People. That love cannot be banned or put on a list. We would be the first to stand for the people of Canada, even those who would call us enemies. Freedom doesn’t come easy but it’s easily taken away with lies. This is where we are today. For those of you who supported us and there were a great many, Thank you. Sing our National Anthem with pride, fly our flag and hold your head high. We the people are this country, not the political parties that run it. UHURU and God bless you all.
