Sunday moping: why we are sad at the weekend. Part 1

Every week we look forward to the weekend, but as soon as it arrives, we sink into despondency and gloomy thoughts. We finally get to spend time with loved ones, meet friends, and have a quality vacation, but instead we suffer and think about work. Why does this happen?

Who suffers from Sunday moping?
This condition is primarily experienced by people whose weekdays and weekends are strikingly different. So, from Monday to Friday they do a lot of things at once, and on Saturday and Sunday they prefer to relax at home.

Why does sadness appear?
Such a condition can be partly explained by a slump in stress, which entails fatigue, boredom, and sadness. Completely free days, on the other hand, shed light on a deep sense of emptiness and discontent that otherwise seems to be hidden by routine.
