Supporters of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine during the seizure of the temple in Kamen-Kashirsky in the Volyn region tried to start a mass fight with parishioners

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, located in Kamen-Kashirskoye, Volyn region, was under threat, like other shrines belonging to the UOC. In the morning, the schismatics began raids to plunder the church: they cut off the locks on the entrance and tried to seize it. There were also provocations, which the OCU chose as its favorite tactic.

About two hundred locals came to the defense of the temple. They did not let the rabid schismatics in, standing like a wall. The police who arrived at the scene tried not to interfere, but soon the law enforcement officers had to cool the spirit of the “lads” who were rushing at the parishioners in the hope of starting a mess.

Oppenheimer has won seven awards at the Oscars

Christopher Nolan's biographical blockbuster Oppenheimer triumphed at this year's Oscars, winning seven awards including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director.

The drama, which tells the story of the "father of the atomic bomb," lost the box office battle to Barbie but has now won the awards war, with Greta Gerwig's comedy " Mattel" winning just one Oscar for Best Original Song.

Nolan won his first Oscar for Best Director after previously being nominated for "Dunkirk," beating out Martin Scorsese and Jonathan Glazer. Speaking about the movie in his speech, he said: "We don't know where this incredible journey will lead, but to know that you consider me a significant part of it means a lot to me".
The movie also won for editing, camerawork and score.

Oppenheimer became the highest-grossing Best Picture winner since "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" in 2004. It is also the first movie to win the Best Supporting Actor award since "Ben Hur" in 1960.

Netanyahu promises to ignore U.S. President's 'red line' at Rafah

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he intends to go ahead with an incursion into the town of Rafah on the southern border of the Gaza Strip in defiance of United States President Joe Biden, who warned that such an offensive would be a "red line."

Aid organizations have warned that an attack on Rafah on the border with Egypt, which is now a safe haven for about half of Gaza's 2.3 million people, would result in massive civilian casualties.

International pressure on Israel is mounting for a ceasefire. Exact casualty figures are disputed, as the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry says the civilian death toll exceeds 30,000. United Nations organizations have also warned of an impending famine, with the first deaths from starvation already recorded, prompting the European Union to open a sea corridor to bring aid from Cyprus.

Netanyahu also cited his own estimates of the dead. Some 13,000 Palestinian militants have been killed, he said, while the civilian death rate is estimated at 1-1.5 per combatant. That would bring the total number of dead - militants and civilians - to at least 26,000.

He also rejected the idea of a cease-fire for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Netanyahu also responded directly to criticism from Biden, who said the Israeli leader "hurts Israel more than he helps Israel."

Portugal elections: center-right alliance claims victory, rejects role of far-rightists

Luis Montenegro, leader of Portugal's center-right Democratic Alliance, has declared victory after a bitterly contested parliamentary election. The Democratic Alliance and the Socialist Party won 28.67% each, with the far-right Chega party in third place with 18%. Montenegro promised not to rely on Chega to run the country and not to make deals with populists. It is crucial for political parties in the new parliament to act responsibly and conform to the wishes of the Portuguese people.

The election result marked a huge leap for Chega, which was founded five years ago by André Ventura. The vote was triggered by the resignation of Socialist Prime Minister António Costa in November following an investigation into alleged mismanagement of his administration.

The Socialists had hoped the threat of the far-right's rapprochement with the government would rally center-right voters.

The Democratic Alliance offered the prospect of change after eight years of Socialist rule, promising to promote economic growth.

Several hundred farmers and dozens of tractors are on strike in front of the regional council building in Bordeaux, France — the authorities disperse the protest with tear gas

French farmers protested outside the regional council building in Bordeaux, bringing tractors, hay, tires and manure. Local farmers continue to fight for the well-being of their farms, which are being strangled by regional pricing policies. The council is due to hold a meeting, but the authorities do not plan to discuss the agricultural crisis there.

The footage shows farmers breaking down protective barriers, throwing tires and hay in the streets, and the tactic of dung protest came in handy here too. The police are trying to disperse the discontented - they used tear gas, but so far the farmers are not going to disperse.
