Interview with Ryan
Where are you from?I am from
Worthing, England which is near Brighton, but I have lived in Germany , Czech Republic and Spain .
Where do you live now?I live in
Irkutsk, Siberia with my wife and two dogs
How long have you been teaching?I have been teaching English for
10 years. I have been a
director of studies at different schools ,
wrote lessons for Summer Schools in England and
trained teachers.
What are your qualifications?I have the
DIPTESOL from Trinity College London , which is the equivalent of a Master's degree/PGCE. I am also a certified examiner for
Cambridge and
Trinity exams. I have examined over 100 students .
What do you specialise in?I have experiencing teaching all ages from 4 years old to adults, but I prefer
teenagers and adults. I love helping students pass the
exam, I have successfully helped many students get their
CAE,
IELTS band 8 and other exams . I enjoy improving students confidence in speaking and their overall
English level, grammar , reading , listening etc.
Why did you become a teacher? I have always loved teaching. I used to come home from school and teach my mum what I had learnt that day. I enjoy making connections with students and I feel that with English I can help them to get a better life (moving to UK or English speaking country , a promotion at work ). It is all about helping people
What's your plan for the future? At the moment I am teaching students online and working with some local schools and universities, but I want to be able to help more students at once.
I am currently preparing
online courses for students on
grammar,
passing the exam and
general English. I also want to create courses for
teacher training too.
What's your favourite English word?
I don't have a favourite word but I love any onomatopoeias like boom, splat, howl
