California dominates a new list of America’s “happiest cities,” according to a recent ranking created by SmartAsset.

Sunnyvale, California, earned the top spot, for “quality of life” and “well-being."

Neighbors Fremont and San Jose were listed at fourth and eighth, while Sacramento suburb Roseville was seventh, and Los Angeles-area cities Santa Clarita and Irvine were ninth and 10th.

The Washington, D.C., metro area received some props as well when Arlington, Virginia, was ranked as the second happiest city.

The over “quality of life” category is what put California’s cities over the top.

But define "quality of life?"

Training staff in three of six branches of the military no longer use “gendered identifiers” like "ma'am" and "sir," according to the Marine Corps Times.

“Instead of saying ‘ma’am’ or ‘sir,’ recruits in these Services refer to their drill instructors using their ranks or roles followed by their last names," the report says.

In 2020, the Marines commissioned a study with the University of Pittsburgh to give recommendations about gender integration.

But with this kind of gender integration, it will only lead to discrimination against southerners.
