Which is the real reason: the mask mandates, or people learning about the insanity taught in schools?

NY Reaped $48M from Unused Gift Cards

New York took in a record $48 million from unused gift card balances in 2022.

A settlement with Apple netted authorities almost $3 million, while another with H&M brought in around $18 million.

“This holiday season I encourage all New Yorkers to spend their gift cards in a timely manner to avoid possible inactivity fees or having the money turned over to my office,” NY State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli said.

The Office of Unclaimed Funds currently has $17.5 billion.

So that's where the unused gift cards go? Towards funding the government?

Malveaux Gone After 20 Years at CNN

Longtime CNN anchor Suzanne Malveaux is leaving the network after a 20-year run.

She broke the news to staff in a note in which she said she approached CNN in the fall of 2022 “about focusing on my family and possibly pursuing some new opportunities,” and that the network “supported me.”

Malveaux, who is the longtime partner of White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, first joined CNN in 2003 after previously working as a correspondent for NBC News. The two have an 8-year-old daughter together.

She is the latest CNN veteran to depart the network, which is in the process of restructuring after a hefty round of layoffs in early December that left hundreds of staffers jobless.

Is everyone jumping ship?

Officer from J6 Housed for Months on Taxpayer Dime

The U.S. Capitol Police officer who killed an unarmed woman inside the U.S. Capitol on J6 was housed for months afterward at a military base in Maryland

The officer, Michael Byrd, stayed at a visitor suite at the Presidential Inn on Joint Base Andrews from July 8, 2021, through January 2022, according to Judicial Watch.

The cost to taxpayers was $158 or more per night, with the cost escalating as high as $185 at times. Byrd was joined by an unidentified pet that added $10 per night to the tab.

The U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) paid the bill every 10 days by phone, according to an email included in the set of records.

You do the math...

Herschel Walker Staffer Claims Conservative Leader Groped Him

A staffer for Herschel Walker’s Senate campaign alleges that longtime Republican activist Matt Schlapp made sexual contact with him while the staffer was driving Schlapp back from an Atlanta bar this October.

Schlapp, chair of the American Conservative Union and lead organizer for the influential Conservative Political Action Conference, said he had wanted to spend the evening discussing the staffer’s professional future.

“It was a public space, and I was thinking that he got the hint. I did not want to embarrass him,” the staffer said. “But it escalated.”

The staffer, in his late thirties, recalled that while he drove Schlapp back to the hotel, Schlapp put his hand on his leg, then reached over and “fondled” his crotch at length…”

Another conservative hypocrite?
