Mistake while doing the reading test.

2. Read the instructions carefully.
In the IELTS exam, you are given instructions before every type of question. Some students directly read the questions and start the test without even reading the instructions. While this can seem like a good way to save time, skipping the instructions completely would definitely get you a lower band score.

This is true for IELTS reading questions as well. In the Reading test, you need to read the instructions for almost every question type. This is especially important for gap-fill, 'short answer', ‘which paragraph contains’ and ‘matching features’ questions.

In the case of gap-fill or short answer questions, you must find out how many words you can use to fill the gaps in sentences or answer the questions. As for ‘which paragraph contains’ and ‘matching features’ questions, sometimes the instruction says 'you can use the same letter more than once', indicating that one paragraph or feature should be used twice. So, be careful with these question types in the Reading test.

" My IELTS journey " (overall 7)

I can remember vividly about a year ago I was looking for an IELTS instructor in my own region ( Andizhan ) and honestly, it was really difficult to find a good one, at least for me. And, one day I heard about a man who had got 8 in IELTS from my groupmates. It is a pity that at that time I was only interested in his score , didn't know about his teaching methods. Without even thinking, I enrolled in his course and started studying officially on 1st of May in 2021 . Most probably, you have already got the idea about who I am talking about ....

Asilbek Yusupov = My first and best IELTS instructor

As everyone, at that time I was only obsessed with IELTS thing , not even thinking about my general english, but I can say firmly attending Mr.Yusupov's classes was a turning point in my life. I started working on my general english instead of just practicing )

He used to give an article on a daily basis and based on that we would write an essay. Also, we talked with our partners for about 10 to 20 minutes about that article. At first, it was really difficult for me, since I wasn't really good at speaking but after 2 months I felt tremendous improvement in my speaking. ( actually, my score was 6,5 or even 6 but it was a real improvement at that time for me personally).

For speaking and writing, I couldn't think of anybody else except Mr. Yusupov to give a credit. We didn't use any books for writing ( everything was in his mind and I still rely on his approaches when I should write any kind of essay ). After he left, I only counted on his teaching methods, particulary for writing and those methods are also in my mind )

In classes, Mr.Yusupov was not strict, ( actually he was really funny and interacted with his students in a friendly way ) but he was never tired of teaching us even if we were not making any progress at that time . ( you know it takes time and effort to become excellent at smth )

To cut long story short, I really look up to him, and want to be a teacher just like him. I may not see him again but it doesn't mean, I won't forget him. He left lasting and unforgettable impressions on me and I am really grateful for being one of his students .

Comment by my student.

Mistake while doing the reading test.

1. Don’t Assume Anything
This is true typically for True/False/Not Given and Yes/No/Not Given question types. We often assume information as our brains can infer and go by that.

This often leads to assigning Not Given statements as False. Remember, for a statement to be false, it needs to be of the opposite information.

For example, if the passage reads “Tom killed Sara.” and the question reads “Tom killed Sara”, the answer is True. If the question says “Tom killed Sara with a knife”, the answer becomes Not Given because the information about the knife is not mentioned in the passage. Additionally, for the answer to be False, the passage must give contrary information like “Sara was killed by Eric”, “Sara killed Tom”, etc.

2022-04-09 16:31:24 It's no secret that today we all take the IELTS exam because the importance of English is growing in our studies, work and life.
However, how the IELTS test is taken and what the impressions are, it's known only to the person who took the test, and the rest can only imagine it. So now we are going to give you a brief overview of the two main ways to take the IELTS exam.

There are two technical ways of taking IELTS exam:

1.Paper-based
2.Computer-based

In the paper-based IELTS test, Reading, Listening, and Writing sections are to be answered on the examination paper itself. Speaking test in this case will be carried out with a trained IELTS examiner through a face-to-face interview.

Computer-based IELTS will have the Reading, Listening, and Writing sections taking place on a computer. The Speaking test will be held in the face-to-face method with IELTS examiners. The examination is completed on the same day for both paper and computer based formats. The Speaking section may be completed up to one week before or after the main exam.

2022-04-09 07:04:16 Lira was also a part of my Intensive Practice Group. When she first came, she told that she had about 3 weeks left to prepare for her exam. By the way, her previous result was an overall band score of 7.5. She told me that she missed some easy questions in the Listening test because of her headache. I don't know what happened to her in the speaking test. Her speaking skills were great to say the least. Nevertheless, she did manage to get a band 8.0 overall, an impressive feat unaccomplished by many to this day.
