Russia's Progress MS-17 spacecraft with cargoes for the International Space Station (ISS) was launched by the Soyuz-2.1a from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The spacecraft was decorated with the symbols of Chuvashia and the image of pilot-cosmonaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union Andriyan Nikolaev who was born in Chuvashia.

On the eve of the launch, Roscongress Foundation went to Baikonur to shoot the new video for Regions of Russia project about the first "advancement of regions into space", about the history, life and people of Baikonur.

The Head of the Chuvash Republic, Oleg Nikolaev noted that the launch of such a rocket became possible thanks to an agreement on cooperation between the Chuvash Republic and the Roscosmos State Corporation signed earlier on the sidelines of SPIEF-2021.
