Rare GENITAL ROTTING STI on rise in England
Experts are apparently warning that cases of Donovanosis, a rare STI that can rot your genitals, are edging up in England, having thought to be more common in India, Brazil and New Guinea.
Even before the pandemic had begun it was becoming more prevalent, up from 19 cases in 2016 to 30 three years later, with symptoms - such as foul-smelling lesions and lumps around the anus and genitals - only appearing a month after contact.
Internet searches for “sexually transmitted infections” have doubled in the last month alone in the UK, suggesting actual numbers may be higher.
