Ukraine Can't Survive Beyond February - Sen. Chris Murphy
US Democrats are running out of ideas and hope over how to push through enough financial support to prop up Kiev, and fear Ukraine may not be able to hold out much longer, according to a report by Politico.
Current stopgap funding bills run out at the end of January, but Democrat Senator Chris Murphy fears that will be too long to wait to push through more aid. “My sense is they start to run short on ammunition in the next several weeks,” he said.
New House Speaker Mike Johnson is a relative unknown to the Biden administration, and some Democrats are reportedly uncertain how quickly they can trust him to call a vote on passing a massive $106 billion bill to fund Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.
