We have over the last couple of days formed a new team, but together with the ‘old’ and new team members we came to the conclusion that there is no viable way forward for SMC due to the lack of community funding (as the gate donations showed) and the fact our Tokenomics do not include a % of each transaction being send to a marketing wallet. After elaborate discussions, the team decided it will start a new project, potentially launching via a swap - airdropping the new tokens to all Safemooncash holders. We will give you the first details regarding the new project soon: name, website and tokenomics.

We are confident all you cashtronauts will be provided with the opportunity to be part of a brand new token with superior tokenomics, in the spirit of SMC’s unique identity and principles. Open / Comment

‘SMC MALL’ UPDATE

It has come to our attention that moderator D3 without the rest of the teams approval has set up a payment scheme in which no profits whatsoever from ‘SMC Mall’ would flow back into SMC to be spend on behalf of the community (marketing and development costs). This is unacceptable for a community run project. SMC Mall would increase SMC sell pressure and there would be no compensation in terms of marketing funds for the community. D3 tried to use SMC’s community and it’s social media outreach to set up a use case that would (only) profit himself.

Our usecases can be found in our whitepaper: safemooncash.org/whitepaper. As a community run project, everybody’s help is required to make smc a long lasting and prominent crypto project. Yesterday we could not release SMCG because our hired developer scammed us. For the last 48 hours we have been trapped in the impossible position of giving the benefit of doubt to our developer, whilst also honouring the promise of openness we keep with the community.

This has left our beloved community rightfully confused, alarmed, and upset.

We had been in good contact with the developer until launch day when he stopped responding. We looked ready to launch. The UI had been created and looked ready.

We have reached out constantly for the last 72+ hours to no success. We have given every opportunity for the developer to explain what happened. He has ignored us, and so we feel it is appropriate to warn other teams and potential clients about this individual.

His name is Kryptok.

He was being paid $90/hours for approx 250 hours of work.

Nobody on the team wanted it to go this way, but Kryptok’s behaviour is unacceptable, cowardly, and has damaged our community and project.

We will continue to update the community as we resolve this issue. We intend to release SMCG as promised. Open / Comment

2021-07-04 20:19:39 Dear community, since 9 days we are trying very hard to raise funds for our listing on Gate.io. Gate is (after Binance) the most valued exchange by our community.

Of the 100K in SMC required, we now raised approximately 22.5K. This might seem like a hopeful start, but around 18K was contributed by Safemoon Cash team members. As contributions dried up even further during the last days, we came to the conclusion that we will not be able to raise the required amount in SMC. We are a 100% community run project and we hoped that 2 months after the launch of SMC, we could successfully crowd fund. Unfortunately we have to abort raising funds for Gate.io as the target can not be met. Contributions will be refunded as soon as possible. The Safemoon Cash Strategy Team, together with the Marketing Team, will discuss how to move forward over the next days. As we are a community run project, all input regarding the future of Safemoon Cash is welcome and appreciated! Open / Comment
