*I'm not trying to lecture you, but want to tell you as it is...*
Assalamualaikum everyone...
One of this first things I did upon arrival into #Zimbabwe recently is visit our Muslim graveyard to remind myself of my journey to the hereafter and calibrate my thoughts of the reality of this life & the hereafter.
Before I left Zimbabwe 3 years ago, there were people I greeted, and expressed my desire to meet them again the following year if Allah willed.
Then Covid-19 Lockdowns and restrictions struck and one year became almost three.
I left them whilst alive and breathing in their homes or the masjid. I then returned back to now visit them at their graves. Allahul Musta'aan.
Such is life brothers and sisters in Islam. We wake up in our beds one morning greeting our loved ones as we leave to attend to the matters of life, only to be woken up again suddenly in the grave!
We leave home that day, or maybe even sleep that night without any meeting with any angels scheduled in our diaries. Suddenly, and in split-seconds, our timetables are replaced by Allah Almighty and our life becomes history.
Don't take life for granted brothers and sisters. It will end without notice.
If you're alive and reading this take these _three advices_ from me for now, as no doubt there is more!
1. *Don't mess around with your #Salah*. Pray it with its rules and regulations.
If you have a masjid next to you, pray in it, for the rewards are 27 times greater! If I offered you 1 million gold coins delivered to you, or 27 million gold coins if you made a short trip to me, which option will you opt for?
So why leave Allah's athaan to fall on deaf ears, when 27 times the reward awaits you at His house!
If you can't pray every Salah in the masjid, at least pray Fajr and Esha in the masjid. For if you die that night, Allah will reward you the rewards of having prayed the entire night! Imagine passing away as if you were in Salah!
2. *Don't let a day go by without having moments in which you visit the #Quran*. If you do so, you will switch on the light in your dark grave!
If you don't have your Qur'an with you, download an app on your phone. Replace your music playlist in your car with a Qur'an playlist.
We have so much technology , so we really don't have an excuse to miss out meeting the Qur'an in our day/night.
_If you can sit on WhatsApp, you can sit with your Qur'anApp._
If you don't, you have chosen not to pay your electricity bill of your grave, and you only have yourself to blame for its blackout.
3. *Don't declare war with Allah!*
Leave Riba (#interest), and don't be deceived by shaitan that it's only forbidden for the one who takes it, and not the one who agrees to pay it...
Dont be tricked By shaitan that it only applies to loans given to the poor and not the rich.
The Qur'an prohibits Riba in all forms. Once you sign on the dotted line, you have signed to have all your duas go unanswered and have effectively declared war with Allah.
What chance can you have when death strikes after declaring war with Allah?!
I am only to you a sincere advisor. May Allah grant us a good end. Ameen.
Your brother,
Dr. Sajid Umar
